Annabel has been training for over 32 years and gained her Black Belt at the age of Fifteen, she started to compete when she gained her yellow tag (3 Months in to herbtraining) Things were very different when she was a junior, the boys and girls were in the same division, so this really gave her a kick start to competitions.

Before Annabel gained her Black Belt she had won numerous competitions and became the current English, British and Welsh Champion for many years on the trot. On gaining her Black Belt she was picked to fight in the World W.A.K.O. Championships, (World All styles Kick boxing Organisation), in London. Although she should of been 16 years old to compete, she was only 15, but she thought the experience would do her good. Little did she know she was to become the youngest W.A.K.O. Champion. Due to this result she gained a place to fight for England abroad, however because she was too young for insurance purposes she was not allowed to compete. However this put her one step up the ladder. Since then she has fought for England abroad and at home on numerous occasions.

Annabels most treasured title has to be the Bronze World sparring Medal she won in 1994, this was made all the more special due to the fact she was the only Female in her weight division in the U.K. to get a placing in the Finals. In 1998 she was again picked to fight for England. Annabel was rather surprised as her teaching took up most of her training time. However she again came home with a Bronze medal.

Annabel has been teaching Tae Kwon-Do for many years and to date has got many of her students to Gold Medal standard in patterns and sparring. She also Referees at most Major Tournaments all over Great Britain & Europe The highlight 0f 2002 was to gain a Bronze Samurai Award presented by Mr David Oliver 8th Degree, for her outstanding achievements and dedication for 2002.

Along with her husband Dale a 4th Degree Black Belt, they run one of the Largest Martial Art Schools in the Area, not only teaching six nights a week, and refereeing at weekends, they teach Sel-Defence in Secondary Schools during the day.

Annabel still likes the competing side of Tae kwon Do, but will be taking a year out  from the competition circuet, to allow her to concentrate on her Students. She will however be fighting fit & up to scratch for the World Championships in 2007. So you can see that to Annabel, Tae Kwon-Do is more than a Hobby, it’s a way of life, with more than 100% DEDICATION. to her Art & her STUDENTS.
